Correction of Heritable Epigenetic Defects Using Editing Tools

Epimutations refer to mistakes in the setting or maintenance of epigenetic marks chromatin. They lead mis-expression genes and are often secondary germline transmitted mutations. As such, they cause for a considerable number genetically inherited conditions humans. The correction these types defects constitutes good paradigm probe fundamental mechanisms underlying development diseases, molecular basis establishment, regulation modifications general. Here, we review data date, which is limited repetitive elements, that relates applications key editing tools addressing aspects various epigenetically regulated diseases. For each approach summarize efforts conducted highlight their contribution better understanding mechanisms, describe limitations suggest perspectives further exploration this field.
